is what I say everyday, and then, as soon as I sit down at the computer, I can’t seem to figure out what I should write about. It’s seems like nothing really went on that day–nothing “significant enough to tell everyone about.” But then again, every day has its own significance, doesn’t it?
So to get back into the swing of things, I’ll start with posting some recent pictures of the kids. Another thing that I need to make more of a priority–take more pictures.

I can’t believe this monkey is going to be six months old this month. Where in the world did the time go? Quenton is such a happy baby–definitely a momma’s boy, but a happy momma’s boy nonetheless

I know, I know…it’s not a very recent picture of my oldest baby, but I love this picture of Jaiden. She’s doing really well with school–her reading has taken off in these past few months and her handwriting is getting better and better everyday. She loves math, too.

Spring League has started up–and of course Mr. Hockey himself couldn’t miss out. It’s definitely different than regular hockey season–the teams play scrimmages for an hour. Every two minutes the buzzer goes off and new players get rotated in. That buzzer sure is annoying to hear for an hour, but I guess it’s the only way they’ll hear when it’s time….

“Moom-it, moom-it–ya, ya!” She was in the car watching “Madagascar” when she started singing it really loud (it’s the part where they sing, “I like to move it, move it. I like to move it, move it.”) I have no idea how she got that scratch on her nose–ain’t no telling with that girl.

…FOOTBALL?!? It is almost time for the Fairbanks Grizzlies’ first season to begin. This is coming after a long time of hear-say, but now it’s actually here. And he’s ready. So ready to “pad up” and get going. It’s his dream. And I can’t wait to see him play those first plays. He gets worked up just talking about it. You can see the excitement in his eyes–it’s like watching kids, after you tell them that they can go ahead and have that sucker–that’s what he reminds me of. And I couldn’t be happier for him. You go, Serre. Show ‘em what you’ve got.

Where’s the time going? I can’t believe that Quenton is almost three months old. Already! We took him in for his well-check yesterday, and the doctor was very pleased. He weighed in at 15#9oz (top of the growth chart) and measured 24 inches long (75th %tile). Dr. Gannett was surprised to see him balancing so well already, and pushing his head and chest off of the examining table. His ears are clear, too, thank goodness, that Amoxicillin worked its magic! Now if he would only let his momma get some sleep… I will try to come on later and post a picture of our youngest monkey!

Gotta love the winter months. Especially all of the nasty cold bugs that go around with it. There’s nothing better than being awakend by your four year old’s barking cough at night. Ugh. And then you wonder, “How bad is this one going to be? Is it one of those colds where the worst part is over after the first day or two? Or is it the other kind?” With snot caked on his face, T got up the next morning, actually doing better than I expected. Still acting like himself–racing cars in the hallway, and practicing his newest skating moves. A sigh of relief….it’s probably not going to be too bad. Fast-forward two days. Now all of them are coughing and sneezing. Jaiden, Sariah and Quenton, too. T is feeling lots better by now, but Sariah is definitely not “feeling it.” She wakes up, and stands next to me with her lip poked out…”the shovel” as we like to call it. Ten minutes after she got up, she’s fast asleep on the couch again. Poor girl. Quenton is restless. No matter which way I hold him, I can’t seem to get it right. I check his temp, and, yep, he has a fever. I call the ped, tell them what’s going on, and the response is, “Can you be here at 11 am?” Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? Mind you, it’s 10:20 am, none of the kids are dressed and I have a 20 minute drive ahead of me. “I can try,” I say. And we’re off. I’m getting pretty good at dressing a kid while I’m brushing my teeth
. We made it just a little after 11 am and get seen. By now, my irritable boy, is just smiling at and flirting with the nurses, acting like nothing is wrong. Figures. That magic car ride–it works wonders. The ped takes a peek in his ears, and, sure enough, the right one is infected. Argh. So, he’s on Amoxicillin. Great. Do you know that 1 tsp. seems like a whole lot when you’re supposed to give it to a 2.5 month old? Yeah, ’nuff said. But after just one dose of the antibiotics and some Tylenol, “Q-Boo” (as I like to call him) is definitely better. Phew. So that’s over with. But no. The next afternoon T starts back up again. And then he says, “Mom, my ear hurts so bad.” Are you kidding me? Taking advantage of the opportunity to not take all of the kids with me, I quickly pack him up in the car, while Serre stays home with the others. T was not happy. I think the fact that we were going to see the doctor made him even more anxious…he cried the whole way there, the entire time I was signing in, while we were waiting….you get the idea. The doc looks in his ears and, yup, he’s got an ear infection, too. In both ears. Great. So more Amoxicillin and numbing drops. I swear, my fridge looks like a pharmacy. So that’s 2 down. And hopefully not 2 to go.
